Welcome

We want to thank you all for showing us such great love and support throughout our lives! Thanks for visiting our wedding website and honeymoon registry and making this all possible! We love you all!!!

Our story starts at the Tunnel.. the Tunnel of love that is!

We both work for Customs and Border Protection at the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel port of entry .  I had already been working there when Rachelle got back from the academy. As you can imagine there are A LOT of men in this type of work so Rachelle had a limitless choice but…. Somehow picked me from the group and as they say "The rest is History"

Well, as you all know, Matthew and I work together and he somehow managed to rearrange our schedules at work on a holiday weekend, Labor Day.  After we got out of work, he surprised me and said that he was taking me home and that we were going to attend the annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk.  I was so excited to be able to go home and see my family and for him to experience the Mackinac Bridge Walk seeing as he had never done it before.

We got up early Monday, Sepetember 3, 2012 so my Dad could drive us over the Mackinac Bridge to St. Ignace where the Bridge Walk begins.  We were standing there among thousands and thousands of people waiting for the Walk to begin.  Then, we were off around 7a.m.  Little did I know what was going to happen shortly after we began our walk.  At approximately mid-span of the bridge (2.5 miles into the walk), Matthew dropped to the ground and clenched his right knee stating that he hurt himself and was wincing in pain.  My first thought was that we still have 2.5 miles left to go, and "how am I going to get him the rest of the way across the Bridge?!"  Then over my right shoulder, a lady stepped out with a camera and a press badge around her neck.  I immediately turned around and stepped between her and Matthew stating, "No, pictures!  You can't take his picture!"  Here I was thinking that she was going to put his picture in the newpaper stating, "This clown gets hurt WALKING the Bridge!"  Lol.

Suddenly, Matthew grabs my left hand and turns me around, and he was holding a ring.  I was so confused that I glanced from him to the reporter, back to Matthew, back to the reporter, etc.  Once, I realized what was going on, I started to cry.  I'm not going to lie, I had NO idea what he said at that point, but I remember asking him, "Are you sure?!" and then saying "YES!!!"

It was the most amazing, special, and meaningful experience ever! The fact that Matthew took me home to do something so special just shows how amazing he is! This was WAY better than I ever could have imagined.

As Matthew says, "Our hearts are bridged by the Mighty Mac!" :)
